SDSU will award seven honorary degrees this year, recognizing individuals who have served the university, the San Diego community and the nation. Engineering Alumni, Massi Joseph E. Kiani and Stephen P. Doyle, will both be receiving a Doctor of Science honorary degree.

Two graduates of SDSU’s Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD) Program and one graduate of SDSU’s Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program have accepted offers to continue conducting scientific research as doctoral students at universities across the nation.

Dr. Subrata Bhattacharjee, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, has been awarded $514,000 by NASA for the project “Residence Time Driven Flame Spread in Microgravity (RTDFSM)”.
