On October 20th, fourteen students from the SDSU Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) program attended the 6th Annual Solar Turbines Training Academy organized by Solar Turbines' Caterpillar Latino Connection (CLC).

On October 7th, Project Lead the Way (PLTW) and SDSU's Society of Women's Engineers (SWE) hosted their annual Girls Day Out: High School Edition. This year 40 high school girls from 18 local high schools participated in a day filled with STEM activities, informational presentations, and opportunities to interact with SDSU students and engineering professionals.

Electrical and Computer Engineering doctoral students, Fei Lu and Hua Zhang, received a Student Project Demonstration on Emerging Technology Second Prize Award from IEEE Power Electronics Society for their project “Long Distance Capacitive Power Transfer with One Pair of Metal Plates” at the 2017 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Expo.

For a dozen decades, the University's faculty and students have exceeded expectations.

The 44th Monty Awards, the signature event of SDSU Alumni, will honor 10 distinguished Alumni and Friends of SDSU who have made significant contributions to the University, the San Diego community or California, nationally or internationally. Honorees for 2017 include College of Engineering, Daniel Goddard ('87), a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Director of Information Directorate at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).

The SDSU Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is a student organization with the goal of guiding Hispanic students interested in entering the science, technology, engineering and science (STEM) fields.

On March 16, 2017, SDSU MESA hosted a group of students from the Ventura College MESA Program. The group was given a tour of the SDSU campus and received an inside look at several student projects and research laboratories in the College of Engineering.

This Aztec works in Boeing’s Huntsville Design Center in Alabama.

The SDSU MARC program in partnership with the SDSU IMSD program initiated the Current Ph.D. Panel event in 2008 for students whose ultimate degree objective is a Ph.D. This year’s event was held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00pm in GMCS 301.
