Troops to Engineers Highlight | Christopher Bowman
Apr 20SDSU's T2E program is proud to present our first Student/Alumni highlight of this semester.
Dr. Elisa Torresani and Dr. Eugene Olvesky
Apr 19SDSU researchers discovered new ways of manufacturing net-shape components from hard-to-deform materials using a combination of additive manufacturing (3D-printing) and spark-plasma sintering of ceramic and metallic parts.
Dr. Yang, Yang, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering
Apr 18Since 1980, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award has recognized manufacturing engineers, age 35 or younger, who have made exceptional contributions and accomplishments in the manufacturing industry.
Dr. Kevin Wood Featured on KPBS, Stays on-top of Energy Storage
Apr 15Grid scale energy storage is of critical importance for a sustainable energy future. Without grid scale energy storage California is quickly reaching a maximum amount of intermittent energy generation sources (i.e. solar and wind).
From Bacteria to Archaea: Resource Recovery from Wastewater
Apr 14Environmental Engineering professor Christy Dykstra earns an NSF CAREER award to continue her research on bioelectrotechnical systems for energy recovery from wastewater.
Project 22 - NASA Robotic Mining Competition
Apr 14Team HADES is representing San Diego State University at the NASA Robotic Mining Competition (RMC) Lunabotics 2022 by designing, building, and operating a lunar mining robot.
‘Cowabunga’: Catch a wave with alumnus surfing game ‘The Endless Summer’
Apr 14“The Endless Summer: Search for Surf” embodies a lifetime love of surfing for SDSU alumnus Ed Marx and offers many avenues for players to live out their surfing fantasies and have an “endless summer.”
Internship at Princeton's Plasma Physics Lab: Research Paper
Apr 11The plasma-material interaction (PMI) effects that Deuterium and Carbon particles have on graphite divertor surfaces -- and more specifically, a portion of the National Spherical Torus Experimental Upgrade (NSTX-U) divertor -- were studied. In this report, a correlation between the commonly used grazing magnetic field angles at tokamak walls and incident ion angle distributions (IADs) of thirteen different impurity particles on a surface was investigated.
SDSU Chapter of ASCE Wins Big at Pacific Southwest Student Symposium
Apr 7SDSU received 3rd place overall in this competition against 14 universities in the Pacific Southwest region of the United States.
Two CCEE Students Awarded Scholarships from American Public Works Association
Apr 7Two students have been selected to receive scholarship awards from the American Public Works Association (APWA) San Diego Chapter.
