Dr. Tara Welborne

Biography

Dr. Tara Welborne is the Associate Director for Quality Engineering at Becton Dickinson where she leads design and development quality for the Care Continuum portfolio of medical devices. Tara started her engineering career with Northrop Grumman as a systems engineer supporting underwater launch systems of submarines. At Northrop Grumman, she progressed into several engineering and management  positions supporting development, production, and sustainment of autonomous air vehicles. Tara has a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology, a Masters of Engineering Management both from Old Dominion University, and a PhD in Systems & Engineering Management from Texas Tech University. In her spare time, she loves volunteering with youth by tutoring and mentoring. Tara and her  husband, Johnnie, reside in San Diego and they have two sons, Darickus and Johnnie III.
