Dr. Scott Newacheck, recently graduated from the Mechanical Engineering department at San Diego State University with a Masters degree and a Ph.D. His dissertation focused on strain-mediated magnetoelectric composite structures in two novel configurations and demonstrated a novel method to grow crystalline organic magnetic polymers. He first attained a Master of Science while conducting research at the Experimental Mechanics Laboratory studying under Professor Youssef, then continued by enrolling in the Joint Doctoral Program. Dr. Newacheck authored 16 peer-reviewed journal articles in prestigious archival journals in mechanics and materials while researching in the Experimental Mechanics Laboratory. He also co-invented a new high-frequency magnetic field generating structure and coauthored a patent on a novel wireless energy transfer technology. Dr. Newacheck is currently working at ASML as a Staff Engineer.
