Ph.D. Candidate Shruthi Dasappa awarded Argonne National Lab Internship and Shah Family Entrepreneur Fellowship
Shruthi Dasappa is a PhD Candidate working in the Flames, Aerosols and NanoScience Lab in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Shruthi was awarded support for an internship at Argonne National lab through the NSF INTERN program. This NSF program is to expand technical training of exceptional PhD students participating in current NSF funded projects by sponsoring an internship in industry or the national labs. The award covers over $40,000 for research and living expenses for a three-month internship at Argonne National lab. In effect, Shruthi will serve as an ambassador from SDSU to open new research collaborations between Argonne and her home lab.
The Shah Family Entrepreneur Fellowship is awarded to the most promising participants of the UCSD Technology Management and Entrepreneurship Certificate program. This program is part of the UCSD Institute for Global Entrepreneurship (IGE) and this award elevates her to the status of IGE Fellow during her tenure in the program. The award includes a $5000 stipend.
