Brandon Wells Selected for Patti Grace Smith Fellowship
Feb 24The Patti Grace Smith Fellowship, a non-profit program helping bring long-overdue diversity to the US aerospace industry, has announced its inaugural class of Fellows. Brandon Wells, SDSU Mechanical Engineering freshman, is one of 43 Black undergraduate students, to earn the 2021 Patti Grace Smith Fellowship. Each Patti Grace Smith Fellows earn a challenging internship at one of the nation’s leading aerospace firms, a living wage, two hand-picked personal mentors, and a cash grant of approximately $2,000 to go towards professional or school expenses.

Dec 1An interdisciplinary Senior Design Project Team consisting of ME students: Matthew Gonzalez, David Bunson, Krysta Rhodes, Jesus Figueroa; and ECE students: Jonathan Maravilla, Alan Clemenson, Brandon Mosburg, Ryan Marmion, and Humood Alghunaim as team members, is one of 12 teams from around the country selected to be semi-finalists in the NASA Moon to Mars Prospecting Challenge.
Supercomputers Assist International Engineering Team on Wave Energy Project
Apr 1Mechanical Engineering professor Amneet Bhalla is part of a team of researchers from San Diego State University and Northwestern University used the Comet and Bridges supercomputers to simulate inertial sea wave energy converter devices in collaboration with Polytechnic University of Turin.
