What if we could produce a smart spacesuit material that monitors force and shields astronauts? Our engineers are creating an advanced sensing technology with a lightweight, organic material (cuttlefish bone) to 3D print and advance body protection gear with alarm systems and data collection capabilities built in.

The partnership, between the company and SDSU's College of Engineering, will examine the use of passive liquid cooling as a potential energy efficient solution.

Last week, Aztec Electric Racing unveiled their new AER-23 car after nine months of hard work. The team is set to compete against 74 other universities at the Formula SAE Electric National Competition next month in Michigan.

Bhalla has earned an NSF CAREER Award in the amount of $520,640 over the next five years for his research on computational fluid dynamics. The NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award is the NSF’s most prestigious award for early-career faculty.

Dean Eugene Olevsky has been elected as a new Foreign Member of the National Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia.

Mechanical Engineering Alumna Corina Lamp was awarded the Daniel P. Goodrich Award for her service to San Diego State and its student body. Corina works as an Operations Leadership Development Program Participant at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
