Bio
Dr. Vi Vu's area of expertise lies in conducting research on the interaction between blood flow and cardiovascular implants, such as prosthetic heart valves and left ventricular assist devices. Her work primarily takes place at the Cardiovascular Bioengineering Lab, where she engages in numerous research projects involving the modeling of blood flow and medical device interactions using in vitro setups. Prior to her role in the lab, Dr. Vu served as an ORISE fellow at the Division of Biomedical Physics, Center of Devices and Radiological Health, Food
and Drug Administration. Additionally, she has also worked as a lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department at San Diego State University.
