Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Mechanical Engineering starting in Fall 2007.  Mechanical Engineering shares with the College of Engineering and the University a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education.

Applicants should hold an earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline and must have a demonstrated ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the thermal science area. The successful candidate is expected to have demonstrated potential for developing an externally funded research program in the general area of thermofluid sciences with special emphasis on energy conversion, heat transfer, alternative energy, or other emerging technologies in the field of energy. The successful candidate is also expected to supervise teams of undergraduate students as well as graduate students in our M.S. and Ph.D. programs.
